Growing Our Leadership
In order to thrive, our congregations must have healthy teams of dynamic leaders. Funds raised will help improve both the quality and the accessibility of specialized leadership training for ministers, religious education professionals and lay leaders (both adults and youth). In addition, Growing our Leadership funds will support the emotional, financial and physical well-being of our professional leaders by creating support networks, providing health-care and offering ministerial debt-reduction grants.
Funding Ideas
- Professional Leadership Support: To energize our leaders for growth in an increasingly complex environment.
- Funding Youth Ministry: to create a Youth Ministry Staff Grants Program.
- Bring it Home Now: a project that would provide consultants to work interactively with congregations to encourage generosity among their members.
- Renewing Worship Through Leadership: to create online training resources for ministers and worship committees to run programs tailored to their congregation’s needs.
- Opening the Doors of General Assembly: Funding the costs of delegates to attend General Assembly.
- Across the Miles: to create teleconferencing capabilities at congregations.
These are just six of the many funding ideas that have been proposed.
To grow our LEADERSHIP, we must build programs designed for and in collaboration with both professional and lay leaders, those in training and those with experience.
