Religion in Life for Girls
Religion in Life for Girl Scouts is a religious recognition program for Unitarian Universalist (UU) girls in grades 4 through 12 who are also Girl Scouts. Created by Susan Charles T. Groth, PhD, the program invites a Girl Scout, over several months to one year, to:
- learn more about her UU faith, heritage, and values
- investigate issues of concern to UUs
- explore connections between UU and Girl Scout values
The 2014 edition of Religion in Life for Girl Scouts comes at no charge, online, in a colorful, engaging, format. It is designed for a Junior, Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador Girl Scout to explore on their own and choose how they will fulfill the program requirements.
A version for younger girls (Juniors or Cadettes) and one for older girls (Cadettes, Seniors, or Ambassadors)* each offer extensive materials for adults who support the Girl Scouts in their families, troops, and congregations. Both programs provide an interactive, online checklist of requirements as well as a PDF file that can be easily printed on paper.
A Girl Scout who completes the program earns the newly redesigned UU Religion in Life emblem to wear on her uniform.
No additional texts are required.
*A Cadette may use either version.
